The RS-485/Ethernet network adapter is an asynchronous serial communication service terminal that provides an RS-232/RS-485 asynchronous serial port and a standard 10/iOOMbps Ethernet port for connecting KD type multi-user energy meters. It can use management software to transmit data over the Ethernet and achieve control of multi-user energy meters.

The serial ports of the RS-485/Ethernet network adapter can be mapped to the local COM ports of the Window host. This means that using these serial ports is like using a local COM port on the host, and it also means that all existing software or communication modules applied to the original serial devices can be used directly without modification.

The RS-485/Ethernet network adapter has a virtual serial communication mode, in which one or more RS-485/Ethernet network adapters are connected to a computer to achieve bidirectional transparent transmission of data. The virtual serial port software on the computer manages the following RS-485/Ethernet network adapters, which can achieve one virtual serial port corresponding to multiple RS-485/Ethernet network adapters.
