The internal micrometer (two-point) has the following three common faults
1. Inaccurate zero position of inner diameter micrometer head
Troubleshooting
Use the "calibration caliper" equipped with the product to calibrate the zero position of the "inner diameter micrometer head". If it is not accurate, it should be adjusted. When adjusting, loosen the "screw" on the "fixed sleeve" (some styles do not have this screw) and use a wrench (product accessory) to rotate the "fixed sleeve" back and forth and align the zero position. Then tighten the "screw" on the "fixed sleeve".
precautions
(1) Before using the "calibration caliper" to calibrate the zero position of the "inner diameter micrometer head", check whether the two measuring pliers of the "calibration caliper" are loose. If they are loose, tighten the two measuring screws.
(2) When measuring the aperture with an inside micrometer, in order to ensure accurate measurement, it is required that the inside micrometer be located on the section perpendicular to the axis of the measured workpiece. In addition, when rotating the "differential cylinder", its rotational force should not be too large, and the movable side head should fully contact the measured surface of the workpiece.
2. Line pressing or offline
Troubleshooting
(1) The pressure line or offline adjustment of the I-type inner diameter micrometer head is the same as the zero position adjustment method.
(2) When the "inner diameter micrometer head" other than Type I needs to be adjusted by pressing or offline, first use a "wrench" to unscrew the "movable micrometer head" (right end of micrometer head) and remove the cover plate and differential cylinder. The adjustment method is the same as that of an outer diameter micrometer.
3. The size of the extension rod exceeds the tolerance
Troubleshooting
Except for the two-point internal diameter micrometers of Type I and Type II structures, other forms of internal diameter micrometers' extension rods' are generally adjustable (i.e. measuring rods with an upper limit greater than or equal to 2000 millimeters and greater than or equal to 100 millimeters). Use the "special plate pliers" provided with the product to unscrew the "screw ring" in the screw hole of the extension rod, remove the "compression spring", and carefully take out the "inner measuring rod". Loosen the "fastening screw" with a screwdriver, then insert the drill rod into the small hole of the "adjustment probe" and rotate the probe back and forth to adjust the size of the "inner measuring rod".
precautions
This adjustment must strictly follow the "isothermal" requirements of the National Verification Regulations. To ensure the accuracy of the size adjustment, this adjustment may be repeated multiple times.
