Sand belt composition

Sand belt is a belt shaped tool used for grinding and polishing, which is made by bonding abrasives to flexible materials such as paper and cloth. Sand belt is composed of substrate, abrasive, and binder.

The base materials for sanding belts used in furniture production are two types: cloth and paper. Paper based sanding belts are made of high-strength paper that has been specially treated as the sanding belt base. The price of paper based sanding belts is 1/3-2/3 lower than that of cloth based sanding belts. Paper based sanding belts are relatively hard and can polish surfaces with high smoothness. They are used in both precision and ultra precision grinding. The strength of cloth belt base is higher than that of paper belt base, and its sensitivity to temperature and humidity is lower than that of paper belt base. It will not lose stability due to the increase of temperature and humidity, and the durability of cloth sand belt is much higher than that of polycarbonate sand belt.
