Insulating oil is an essential insulation material in transformers, as well as a cooling oil for transformer windings and iron cores. Transformer oil contains gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, ethane, acetylene, ethylene, hydrogen, etc. When the total gas content in the insulating oil is less than 3% (V/V), the insulating oil can achieve good insulation effect. But if the total gas content in the insulating oil is too high, it will significantly reduce the insulation strength of the insulating oil. Moreover, bubbles in the insulating oil may cause partial discharge and generate secondary bubbles when passing through high electric field areas, which can harm the entire insulation circuit and accelerate the aging of the insulating oil, leading to transformer failure or even damage.

Therefore, the country has introduced multiple relevant detection standards for the gas content of insulation oil, including DL/T 703-1999 "Gas Chromatography Method for Determining the Gas Content in Insulation Oil", GB/T 17623-1998 "Gas Chromatography Method for Determining the Content of Dissolved Gas Components in Insulation Oil", DL/T 722-2000 "Guidelines for Analysis and Determination of Dissolved Gas in Transformer Oil", GB/T7252-2001 "Guidelines for Analysis and Determination of Dissolved Gas in Transformer Oil", etc. The gas content in insulation oil has become an inevitable indicator for the power industry to detect.

In response to this, Tate Instruments has launched a transformer insulation oil specific gas chromatograph for insulation oil production enterprises and oil charging equipment manufacturers, equipped with dual FID detectors, TCD detectors, nickel conversion furnaces, packed column samplers, three-way insulation oil specific chromatography columns, etc. It can obtain analysis results for seven gases in insulation oil, including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, ethane, acetylene, ethylene, and hydrogen, by injecting them once. It is an essential detection instrument for insulation oil production enterprises and oil charging equipment manufacturers.

1. The configuration plan for a dedicated gas chromatograph for insulation includes dual FID detectors, TCD detectors, nickel conversion furnaces, packed column samplers, and three dedicated chromatography columns for insulation oil. Analysis results can be obtained by injecting seven gases, namely carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, ethane, acetylene, ethylene, and hydrogen, into the insulation oil at once.

2. New production process, redesigned the air supply path and internal structure inside the instrument, more reasonable component layout, reduced component signal interference, improved detection accuracy, and excellent stability and durability of the equipment.

3. Adopting a 7-inch color touch screen control and a professional chromatograph UI operation interface design, it intuitively reflects the internal temperature values of the injection port, column temperature box, and detector, as well as the values of each detector, and the running time. It has a one click cooling function, and users can set their own detection conditions, making it very convenient to use.

4. The instrument has excellent repeatability. Under the experimental conditions of using an automatic sampler for injection, the repeatability error of the instrument test can reach 2%, which is better than the 3% specified by the national standard.

5. The column temperature box adopts a six channel independent temperature control system, an automatic rear door opening system, a 21 stage 21 platform program temperature rise, fast temperature rise/fall speed, and a temperature control accuracy of 0.1 ℃, making the equipment capable of large-scale sample analysis.

It can be directly connected to the computer and operated through the PC network version chromatography workstation software(zuiSupports up to 253 units, enabling program control of instrument injection ports, column temperature chambers, and detector temperature rise and fall.
