Therefore, in the gradual elimination process, after 2010, the mainstream card type should be IC cards, but the development of CPU cards is also quite rapid, which is a trend. IC cards have a wide range of applications and high security on the one hand; In addition, it mainly brings convenience to the one card system, integrating access control, elevators, parking lots, consumption, attendance, patrol, intelligent channels, etc. into one system, which can achieve the functions of the one card without networking.

Smart access cards mainly include ID cards, EM cards, M1 cards, TM cards, CPU cards, and so on. Currently, EM cards and M1 cards almost dominate the entire access card application market. Therefore, when choosing the card for our application, it is best to choose EM card or M1 card as our main card. Because for other infrequently used cards, both the maturity of technology and the matching of accessories can cause us considerable trouble. And as the market share continues to shrink, these cards will inevitably gradually withdraw from our application market after a period of time. In this case, the repair, expansion, and renovation of the access control system will bring unexpected troubles.

In fact, for ordinary access control applications, EM card is undoubtedly the most practical type of access card. Its characteristics are long card reading distance, high market share, and relatively mature technical practice. However, the biggest disadvantage of this type of card is that it is only a read-only card. If we need some charging or transaction functions at the entrance, then this type of card is really inadequate.

For users with consumption management needs, if they need some simple records or transfers, then the M1 card is already sufficient to meet them. Of course, if we still need more detailed content recognition or transaction activities in the application of access control systems, then CPU cards supported by the latest technology have stronger security than traditional M1 cards. In the long run, CPU cards are also increasingly eroding the market for M1 cards.
