RTD measurement and simulation module RIO4000
RIO4000 is the RTD measurement and simulation module of the Meriam MFT 4000 series multifunctional tester. This module accurately measures or simulates 22 different RTD sensor types with a nominal resistance of 4000 ohms. The measurement of various alpha coefficients using 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire RTDs of different types can be found in Table 1. This module can simulate the temperature of all conventional or intelligent temperature transmitters and signal conditioners.
MFT converts the measured resistance to the corresponding temperature value and displays the value in the temperature engineering unit selected by the user (Fahrenheit, Celsius, Rankine or Kelvin). Ohms can also be displayed as direct readings or maintenance. Platinum 100RTDs probes can be obtained from Meriam and used together with this module. The Meriam RTD probe is a 4-wire, DIN Class A probe, complete with a handle, 5-inch spiral cable, and connector. The accessory connector can be connected to any resistor or temperature transmitter for measuring and simulating programs. RTD simulation mode can be set by inputting specific temperature or temperature range, and used to set step size and ramp function

The table above lists the RTDS supported by RIO4000 module and MFT 4000 series. The material, type, and alpha coefficient are based on the popular RTD used on site.
Meriam provides Pt 100 accessory probes that can be automatically recognized by the RIO4000 module. No setting is required for MFT. Users can also configure their own mentioned RTDs by connecting them to their RTDs using accessory connectors and Rs resistors (Probe ID resistors listed in the table above). This technology allows the module to automatically identify the connected RTD and load its characteristics. If Rs resistors are not used, the copper wire must be installed in the appropriate position. At this point, the MFT display screen will automatically show the RTD selection menu, allowing users to configure MFT for use with any supported RTD type.

Environmental temperature limit: -10 ° C to+50 ° C Apply the temperature coefficient of resistance to environments below 18 ° C and above 28 ° C, with a temperature coefficient of resistance of 0.02 º C/º C. For dual wire simulation, the manufacturer's dual wire simulation cable is required
Note: When the simulation accuracy is set to "active calibration" mode or similar continuous mode, this type of accuracy also applies to pulse transmitters.
