Gas can permeatePEFE membrane, but not suitable for water under atmospheric pressure. The system detects the local pressure of dissolved CO2 in water and is insensitive to carbonates. Note that measuring the local pressure of CO2 is not based on pH measurements. The water flow through the sampler must ensure balance with the surrounding liquid. At a given temperature and partial pressure of one atmosphere, the local pressure of carbon dioxide is converted into the concentration of carbon dioxide in water. If the temperature probe purchased is Qubit (optional) and the temperature data recorded can be automatically calibrated (optional). The Q-DCO2 system can be configured with CO2 concentrations ranging from ppm to 100% in the gaseous state.
Please note that the response time of the system is slow(4-10 minutes) due to diffusion through the PTFE membrane. The response time depends on the flowing liquid passing through the sampler, therefore, well stirred liquid is essential for measurement.
