Rubber products must undergo vulcanization after being pressed from rubber material to have characteristics such as elasticity and wear resistance. The vulcanization process refers to the chemical reaction between the raw rubber in the rubber material and the vulcanizing agent under certain conditions, which transforms the rubber from a linear structure of large molecules to a network structure of large molecules, resulting in a significant improvement in the mechanical properties of the rubber material. During the vulcanization process, the formation of network cross-linking can only occur under heating conditions. In the conventional heating vulcanization process, heat is transferred from the surface to the inside through the thermal conductivity of the rubber material. Due to the poor thermal conductivity of rubber, it takes a long time for the entire product to reach the vulcanization temperature, and it is easy to form a temperature gradient, resulting in uneven vulcanization. Using microwave vulcanization, the rubber material directly absorbs microwave energy while generating heat both inside and outside. The overall time for the product to reach the vulcanization temperature is very short (about one tenth to one percent of the conventional temperature), and there is no temperature difference gradient between the surface and the interior, so vulcanization is rapid and uniform.
