The Phosphax Sigma total phosphorus analyzer can measure orthophosphate/total phosphorus using the molybdenum blue method, which only takes about 10 minutes and has a low detection limit. The total phosphorus online analyzer is equipped with a sample pretreatment system and a protective panel, self calibrating and self-cleaning, and can display results in graphics or data.

-Working principle:

The Phosphax Sigma total phosphorus analyzer is based on the molybdenum blue method. Polyphosphate and phosphorus containing compounds are hydrolyzed under acidic conditions of high temperature and high pressure to generate orthophosphate ions. Sodium persulfate further oxidizes other stable phosphorus containing compounds to orthophosphate ions. The antimony compound generated by orthophosphate ions in a strong acid solution containing molybdate is reduced to blue molybdate by ascorbic acid. The total phosphorus analyzer measures the absorbance of phosphomolybdate to determine the total phosphorus in the sample.

Before entering the total phosphorus analyzer, water samples containing suspended solids need to be processed by the SIGMATAXTM 2 sample pretreatment system. The system uses a new vacuum negative pressure sample collection and transmission and advanced ultrasonic crushing technology to crush all suspended solids and introduce them into the total phosphorus online analyzer for accurate analysis of all phosphorus in the water sample.
