Specification Introduction:
The working principle of Metek's MRR-2 micro rain radar is based on the relationship between raindrop size and scattering cross-section, raindrop size and descent rate. The METEK micro rain radar uses a single-phase static antenna structure that can reliably repair the size distribution of raindrops (DSD).
MRR-2 measures the profile of Doppler spectra to obtain raindrop size distribution, rain velocity, liquid water content, radar reflectivity factor, Doppler velocity, and comprehensive path attenuation. The installation and setup are very simple and insensitive to the surrounding environment such as masts, buildings, or trees. MRR-2 is an ideal, practical, and maintenance free measuring instrument for various hydrological and meteorological station (even remote station) applications.
The raw data can be transmitted to a computer within 100 meters using RS422 serial data cable or Ethernet interface for data calculation, storage, or remote control. Low power single-chip PC devices can also be selected.
The automatic control antenna heating device can operate normally even in low temperatures or snowy or frozen environments in winter.
Specification features:
Measuring the vertical distribution profile of raindrop size, rainfall rate, liquid water content (LWC), and other microphysical properties
The measurement height can reach 6000m, and 30 layers can be sampled with adjustable height resolution
Not affected by wind, surrounding environment, and marine environment, with no evaporation error
No maintenance required, long-term unmanned operation
The large sampling capacity results in very high temporal resolution
Application areas:
Long term unmanned rainfall monitoring
Raindrop distribution measurement
Mixed cloud monitoring
Meteorological radar calibration
Real time precipitation report
Investigation and research (hydrology, precipitation, cloud physics)
Rain measurement in open places such as ships or beaches
Monitoring of precipitation melting zone
