The leakage tracing tester is a device that applies a certain voltage between platinum electrodes of a specified size (2mm × 5mm) on the surface of solid insulation materials, and drips a specified volume of contaminated liquid (0.1% NH 4 CL) at a fixed height (35mm) for 30 seconds. It is used to evaluate the tolerance of the surface of solid insulation materials under the combined action of electric field and contaminated medium, and to determine their relative electrical trace index (CT1) and electrical trace resistance index (PT1).
