COD chemical oxygen demand refers to the amount of oxidant consumed to oxidize reducing substances in 1 liter of water sample under certain conditions (calculated as oxygen and expressed in mg/L). Chemical oxygen demand reflects the degree of pollution of water by reducing substances. Based on the common phenomenon of organic pollution in water bodies, this indicator is also one of the comprehensive indicators of relative organic content.
The standard method for COD determination is the reflux digestion titration method, which has a long digestion time (2 hours), high energy consumption, high reagent costs, and low efficiency, often troubling practical operators. We have developed the KX-100A COD (cr) rapid colorimetric analyzer to meet the needs of industrial pollution source control and rapid detection of various types of wastewater. The instrument can adopt open tube reflux heating digestion or sealed digestion method, using special catalysts and oxidants. After adding specialized oxidants and catalysts to the water sample, it is heated and digested. The Cr6+in the oxidant is partially reduced to Cr3+, and the reduced Cr3+content is converted to the actual concentration of COD (cr) in the water sample through colorimetric measurement and regression calculation.
