The carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in the sample are hydrogenated under the catalysis of nickel catalyst to produce methane and water. The converted sample is then sent to a hydrogen flame detector for detection, thereby achieving the separation and detection of trace amounts of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
