The main structure of the pneumatic high-precision automatic feed drilling power head consists of three parts: main motion, feed motion, and control system
(1) The main motion of the electric and pneumatic automatic feed drilling power head is driven by a three-phase asynchronous motor, and the torque of the motor is transmitted to the spindle through a synchronous toothed belt and spline shaft. Different spindle speeds can be achieved by replacing different synchronous toothed belt pulleys. Due to the main motion of the power head being driven by a motor, the spindle has good speed characteristics, high output power and torque, and can adapt to multi axis drilling and machining of larger apertures.
(2) Feed motion
Due to the advantages of fast action response, good environmental adaptability, simple structure, small size, and the ability to achieve stepless speed regulation, long working life, and convenient power source, compressed air is used as the power source for the feed motion of the power head. Considering the compressibility of air, the smoothness of the motion of the power head is poor when the load changes. The adjustment and control of the working speed are achieved using hydraulic dampers, and the fast forward and rewind speeds of the power head are adjusted using exhaust throttle valves.
(3) Control system
The feed motion of the electric and pneumatic automatic feed drilling power head uses compressed air as the power source, and its feed motion control also uses a pneumatic control system, consisting of a two position five air control valve, a motorized valve, two manual valves, several throttle valves, and two external control air source ports. The structure is compact, with manual and remote control operation functions, as well as in-situ, forward position signal, and reset signal protection functions. The fast and working processes of the power head can be continuously adjusted through the stopper.
