New Technology for Dissolved Oxygen Measurement - Fluorescence Method for Dissolved Oxygen Measurement

The LDOTM portable dissolved oxygen meter is a portable instrument developed by Hash Company using new technology, suitable for laboratory and field testing.

The LDO dissolved oxygen sensor of HACH company is covered with a layer of fluorescent material. When the blue light emitted by the LED light source shines on the fluorescent material on the surface of the sensor, the fluorescent material is excited and releases red light. The time from emitting blue light to emitting red light is recorded. The higher the oxygen concentration in water, the shorter the time it takes to release red light. Establish a correlation between the release time of red light and dissolved oxygen concentration. The instrument calculates the dissolved oxygen concentration by measuring the release time of red light, and then directly displays the dissolved oxygen concentration on the screen.

In terms of measuring dissolved oxygen technology, portable measuring instruments with LDO probes have many advantages compared to traditional current or polarographic based dissolved oxygen meters:
● No polarization required: When measuring dissolved oxygen, the LDO dissolved oxygen probe does not require polarization time. Traditional dissolved oxygen probes usually undergo polarization processes before use.
No calibration required: The LDO dissolved oxygen probe has been calibrated before leaving the factory, so users do not need calibration when using it and can directly measure dissolved oxygen concentration. Traditional dissolved oxygen meters usually have calibration steps when in use, and only after passing the calibration can dissolved oxygen be measured.
Low maintenance: The LDO probe is a membraneless probe that does not require replacement of membrane components or filling of electrolyte, greatly reducing maintenance costs and saving time for users.
Strong anti-interference ability: The LDO probe is a membraneless probe, so it is not affected by the interference of chemical substances in typical wastewater.
