Iron and manganese often coexist in water. According to the hygiene standards for drinking water in China, the iron content is ≤ 0.3mg/L and the manganese content is ≤ 0.1mg/L. Long term consumption of water with high iron and manganese content is harmful to the human body and affects product quality in industries such as textiles, papermaking, brewing, food, pharmaceuticals, and beverages. It also generates spots on items, so iron and manganese removal treatment is necessary.
The LCT underground water iron and manganese removal equipment adopts a new process of contact oxidation for iron removal, which is a "natural manganese sand iron removal process" and can also be replaced by quartz sand. The iron and manganese removal filter uses natural manganese sand as the filtering medium and oxygen in the air as the oxidant. After aeration, the iron (manganese) in the groundwater containing iron (manganese) begins to oxidize. When the water flows through the manganese sand or specially designed quartz sand filter layer inside the iron and manganese removal filter, the chemical reaction of the filter material and the biochemical reaction of iron (manganese) bacteria (such as multinucleated bacteria, iron containing bacteria, unicellular iron bacteria, and rust colored bacteria) on the surface of the filter material cause biochemical reactions, contact oxidation reactions, and physical interception and adsorption in the filter material layer. The combined effect of these processes can greatly accelerate the oxidation and solidification of iron (manganese) in the water, and remove iron from the filter material. Separate from water and trap in the filter layer.
