Overview
The desktop small animal PET/CT imaging device G8 PET/CT launched by PerkinElmer is a new generation revolutionary small animal PET imaging system developed by Michael Phelps, the inventor of PET imaging technology, and his research team at UCLA Molecular Imaging Center. It overcomes the disadvantages of the existing small animal PET in the market, such as large volume, complex operation, high price, and complex installation environment requirements, which are not suitable for widespread application in scientific research institutions. Its price is only one-third of traditional small animal PET.
PerkinElmer G8 PET/CT is different from traditional circular detection systems, as it receives signals through a four sided seamless flat panel detector. It is currently the most sensitive PET system on the market, with a sensitivity of 14% and a uniform resolution of 1.4mm across the entire field of view. At this high sensitivity, only trace amounts of nuclide probes are needed for imaging, which means that while ensuring high-quality images, only 10 times lower probe doses need to be injected for imaging. At the same time, it can achieve fast PET/CT imaging of mice, improve experimental efficiency and scanning flux, and can output DICOM format for in vivo optical imaging of small animals micro CT、micro SPECT、 Multi modal fusion imaging is performed on various live images of small animals, such as MRI.
For most basic scientific research users who are not familiar with small animalsFor the complex parameter settings of PET, G8 PET/CT has developed a convenient scanning software to help customers set commonly used scanning parameters according to different applications. Users can quickly and easily complete the scan through a very simple operation process. It is widely used in small animal live imaging research in fields such as nuclear medicine, tumor detection, tumor metastasis, neurobiology, cardiovascular science, stem cell research, pathological toxicology, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, nanotechnology, and radiopharmaceuticals.
