Experimental principle: This instrument is an integral instrument. Dry or wet wool felt is placed in the groove on the lower surface of the friction hammer, and a weight of a specified weight is placed above the friction hammer. Under a specified pressure, a dry or wet white wool cloth is wrapped around the surface of the friction hammer against the leather surface. The sample surface is rubbed back and forth at a specified speed for a certain stroke. After reaching the specified number of times, the damage and degree of discoloration on the sample surface are observed.

Result judgment: Compare the color changes on the surface of wool felt and leather with gray sample cards, determine the grade, and record any visible changes or wear on the leather surface.
