There are inevitably many sources of combustible and toxic gas release in chemical production facilities and auxiliary facilities. To prevent potential personal injury and fire and explosion accidents, and ensure the safety of enterprise production, gas detection and alarm devices should be installed in places where flammable or toxic gases may leak or accumulate, and the signals should be uploaded to the display and alarm control unit. When there is danger on site, timely warning can be given. This complete system is the combustible gas and toxic gas detection and alarm system (hereinafter referred to as GDS system).
Due to the fact that the GDS system is still in development and there is no clear specification yet, and there are conflicts among existing requirements. As stipulated in the "Design Specification for Combustible Gas and Toxic Gas Detection and Alarm in Petrochemical Industry" (GB50493-2009), "Combustible gas and toxic gas detection and alarm systems should be independently set up. However, in the State Administration of Work Safety's document No. 116 "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Management of Chemical Safety Instrumented Systems", the GDS system is also included in the Chemical Safety Instrumented System (SIS system). At the same time, combustible gas detectors are managed by the fire department and require CCCF certification.
The chaotic requirements leave design units and manufacturers at a loss. Does the GDS system need to be independent? Does the GDS system require SIL certification? How should GDS system be designed? There are currently no standards to refer to for these issues. Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development released a new version of the "Design Standards for Detection and Alarm of Combustible and Toxic Gases in Petrochemical Industry" (GBT 50493-2019), which provides detailed explanations for GDS systems. Based on the new standard provisions, Aiyi Technology will explore the design and selection of GDS systems.

GDSAs a safety independent protective layer of the device, the reliability of the system is a basic requirement for ensuring production safety. Once an accident occurs, the GDS system can enable staff to handle it in a timely manner, preventing the accident from escalating. As power outages are the main cause of accidentsThe GDS system should be equipped with UPS power supply as much as possible.

The components of the GDS system, namely detectors, alarms, and alarm control units, are specified and do not include linkage. Therefore, the GDS system is only used for alarms, and the linked devices are not part of the GDS system.

Explained whether the GDS system requires CCCF authentication,When the GDS system is only used for warning alarms and does not intervene in fire linkage, the alarm control unit only needs to useIndependently configured microprocessor based electrical system? The product is sufficient,No need to obtain a fire protection product type testing (CCCF) report.
If the combustible gas detector signal in the GDS system needs to be used for fire linkage, the alarm control unit should obtain CCCF certification and transmit the signal to the fire control room.

Product Introduction:
AEGDS2000typeCombustible gas and toxic gas detection and alarm systemThe GDS system is a programmable control system independently developed by Aiyi Technology, which fully complies with the relevant requirements of GBT50493-2019 and is suitable for gas leak detection and alarm needs in industrial fields such as chemical, energy, food, and steel.
The system consists of a gas detection alarm, a cabinet style gas alarm control unit, a data acquisition module, and a workstation, which can achieve functions such as on-site detection alarm, real-time data transmission, remote display alarm, and historical record query.
