Measuring principle

Phenolic compounds react with 4-aminoantipyrine in the presence of potassium ferrocyanide in a pH 10 ± 0.2 medium to produce orange red indophenol antipyrine dye. The aqueous solution exhibits an absorption peak at a specific wavelength.
