DE-1T Tree Growth Change SensorThe DE-1T Tree Growth Change Sensor is a high-precision growth sensor based on LVDT technology, mainly used to monitor small changes in tree trunk diameter, with a range of micrometer level units.
The sensor includes a linear displacement transmitter (LVDT) fixed on a special rod with a threaded pipe mouth. When this pole is inserted into the interior of the trunk, the LVDT pole moves with the movement of the trunk surface. The output signal changes with the distance between the surface of the tree trunk and the top of the rod inserted inside the trunk.
The probe is connected to * * * boxes with signal conditioners inside through a standard 1-meter cable. The signal conditioner provides LVDT excitation and generates a standard linear output signal. Users can choose the length of the output cable according to their own needs.

Installation of Tree Growth Change Sensor
Carefully file off the rough formation layer on the trunk to reduce it, and create a measuring point with an area of approximately 6 L × 5 W cm2. On some herbaceous plants or plant trunks with smooth outer surfaces, this step is not necessary
Drill a hole of 3.3-3.5mm, it is recommended to use a wooden drill to slowly drill the hole and set a relatively low torque to prevent excessive tearing of the fiber layer along the drilling direction of the tree trunk. The depth of the hole is 3 centimeters for small holes and 9 centimeters for large holes.
※ Loosen the anti loosening nut and remove the measuring rod from the frame
Carefully insert the measuring rod into the hole drilled on the tree trunk. If insertion is difficult, carefully clean with a drill bit and try again.
Once the measuring rod is inserted, install the sensor on the rod and adjust the position until the root of the elastic support rod contacts the tree trunk.
When the reading approaches 0 or 10mm, adjust the sensor again.
