Basher trough is a monitoring device used for open channel flow, also known as a Basher trough. When using an open channel flowmeter, it is necessary to control the water flow rate through this standard Bacher groove, and accurately record the flow data in real time by monitoring the changes in water surface height. So, based on the size of the drainage volume and the special needs of different users, today we will introduce the selection and construction methods of the Bacher trough.
PART 1:Calculation principle of Bacher trough
The larger the flow in the open channel, the higher the liquid level; The smaller the flow rate, the lower the liquid level. For general channels, there is no definite correspondence between liquid level and flow rate. Because the same water depth and flow rate are also related to the cross-sectional area, slope, and roughness of the channel. Installing a measuring weir groove in the channel, the correspondence between the upstream water level and flow rate of the channel mainly depends on the geometric dimensions of the weir groove, as the gap of the weir or the contraction of the groove is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the channel. The same measuring weir tank is placed on different channels, and the same liquid level corresponds to the same flow rate. The measuring weir channel converts the flow into liquid level. By measuring the liquid level of the water flow in the measuring weir tank, and then reverse calculating the flow rate based on the corresponding water level flow relationship of the measuring weir tank.
PART 2:Structure and dimensions
The size of the Bacher groove is related to the installation of the channel and needs to be determined based on the user's on-site situation. Some can be installed directly during the circulation process, while others can be installed at the end of the drainage outlet. But according to national standards, it is usually placed in the middle of the circulation process, and an open channel flowmeter needs to be installed on top. According to the standard, the shape of the Bachel groove is fixed and must include three parts: the contraction section, the throat section, and the expansion section. Each model of Bacher groove has a fixed standard size.
PART 3:Precautions for construction and installation of Bacher groove:
1. The centerline of the Bacher trough should coincide with the centerline of the channel to prevent water flow from deviating into the Bacher trough.
After the Bacher trough is filled with water, the flow state of the water should be free flowing. The submergence degree of the Bacher trough should be less than the specified critical submergence degree.
3. There should be a straight section upstream of the Bacher trough that is greater than 5 times the width of the channel, so that the water flow can enter the Bacher trough smoothly. There is no lateral deviation or the impact force formed by the slope of the channel.
4. The Bacher groove should be securely installed on the channel. The connection with the side wall and bottom of the channel should be tight and not leak water. Make all the water flow through the measuring part of the Bacher trough. The measuring part of the Bacher trough is the throat section inside the trough.
PART 4:Equipment Layout
The size of the Babbitt flow channel is strictly designed according to specifications, meeting customer requirements and responding to relevant inspections by environmental protection departments. Installing a flow meter in the collection tank can accurately record the water volume, ensuring the accuracy and precision of the discharged water.
