1、 The experiment shall be conducted according to the following steps:
After fully charging the battery according to the test method specified in 4.5.1, place the battery in two planes and press it perpendicular to the direction of the electrode plates. Apply a compression force of 13.0KN ± 0.2KN between the two plates. Once the pressure reaches the maximum value, the compression test can be stopped. During the test, the battery cannot cause external short circuits.


When cylindrical batteries are compressed, their longitudinal axis is parallel to the two flat plates, while square batteries and soft pack batteries are only subjected to compression tests on the wide surface of the battery. The button type battery is subjected to compression testing with its upper and lower surfaces parallel to two flat plates. The battery placement method in the experiment is shown in Figure 2 below. Only one compression test is conducted on one sample.
