Product details

Algae detection instrument series
Algae detection widely uses active fluorescence technology as a rapid and non-invasive method to estimate the photosynthetic performance of various organisms, including phytoplankton (microalgae and cyanobacteria), benthic autotrophic organisms (corals, macroalgae, and seagrasses), and terrestrial plants. The main reason for applying active fluorescence is that changes in key fluorescence parameters can reveal the performance of photosynthesis and the early onset of chronic and acute degradation of subsequent growth.
Chlorophyll a is a fluorescent compound required for photosynthesis and is present in all algal species. Chlorophyll a molecules absorb blue light and re emit a portion of this energy with red fluorescence. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the concentration, so measuring chlorophyll a fluorescence can evaluate the level of algae in the environment. This technology is widely regarded as one of the most sensitive detection methods.

Portable Algae Detector ALGAE Wader
ALGAE Wader can display key chlorophyll parameters required for water quality monitoring in real-time. The data is detected using the highly sensitive submersible sensor series LUX and displayed on a handheld display memory. In addition to being very sensitive, the fluorescence sensor has extremely low noise and can adjust alarms, sampling rates, and sensor dynamic range.

Handheld display memory with color display touch screen, allowing real-time viewing and storage of data; Programming can be done according to requirements to apply user set standards to measurement data; Equipped with a GPS receiver, it can provide location and time tagging for data.

ALGAE Wader can be equipped with three types of fluorescence sensors: one is the single parameter fluorescence sensor UniLux; The second is the three parameter fluorescence sensor TriLux; The third is the six parameter fluorescence sensor V-Lux.

1、 UniLux single parameter fluorescence sensor
Directly excite chlorophyll a with blue light and measure the emitted red fluorescence. Standardize using a solution of chlorophyll a dissolved in acetone at a concentration of μ g/l. The UniLux single parameter fluorescence sensor can detect chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, phycoerythrin, rhodamine, fluorescein, and turbidity, respectively.

2、 Three parameter fluorescence sensor TriLux
Provide classification information for algae. The principle is that energy is absorbed by the light pigments of different species and quickly transferred to chlorophyll a, which is used to initiate the photosynthetic cycle. Provide excitation wavelengths of blue, green, and amber, and detect chlorophyll a fluorescence with a single emission wavelength centered at 685nm. You can also choose turbidity to replace the green or amber channels.
Green light stimulates phycocyanin pigments associated with marine cyanobacteria, while amber light stimulates phycocyanin pigments found in freshwater cyanobacteria. Therefore, by examining the different effects of each excitation wavelength on chlorophyll a fluorescence, changes in algal composition can be detected and early onset of blue-green algae blooms can be detected.
The multi parameter fluorescence sensor TriLux can detect chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, and phycoerythrin, respectively; Or chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, and turbidity; Or chlorophyll a, phycoerythrin, and turbidity.

Three and six parameter fluorescence sensors V-Lux
The six parameter fluorescence sensor V-Lux can detect chlorophyll a&c, chlorophyll a&b, phycocyanin, phycoerythrin, turbidity, and absorbance (not displayed but recorded).
