ALGAE Station is mainly used for water quality monitoring, detecting real-time key chlorophyll parameters. Includes fluorescent sensor series Lux and a wall mounted display memory Watchkeeper. The data is obtained through a highly sensitive fluorescence sensor Lux, which has extremely low noise in addition to being very sensitive. Adjustments can be made to alarms, sampling rates, and sensor dynamic ranges.
ALGAE Station can be equipped with three types of fluorescence sensors: UniLux, a single parameter fluorescence sensor; TriLux, a three parameter fluorescence sensor; and V-Lux, a six parameter fluorescence sensor.
1. UniLux single parameter fluorescence sensor
Directly excite chlorophyll a with blue light and measure the emitted red fluorescence. Standardize using a solution of chlorophyll a dissolved in acetone at a concentration of μ g/1.
The UniLux single parameter fluorescence sensor can detect chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, phycoerythrin, rhodamine, fluorescein, and turbidity, respectively.
Two and three parameter fluorescence sensors TriLux
The principle of providing classification information for algae is that energy is absorbed by different species' photosynthetic pigments and quickly transferred to chlorophyll a, which is used to initiate the photosynthetic cycle. Provide excitation wavelengths for blue, green, and amber colors, and detect chlorophyll-a fluorescence with a single emission wavelength centered at 685nm. Alternatively, turbidity can be chosen to replace the green or amber channels.
Green light stimulates phycocyanin pigments associated with marine cyanobacteria, while amber light stimulates phycocyanin pigments found in freshwater cyanobacteria. Therefore, by examining the different effects of each excitation wavelength on chlorophyll a fluorescence, changes in algal composition can be detected and early onset of blue-green algae blooms can be detected.
The three parameter TriLux fluorescence sensor can detect chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, and phycoerythrin, respectively; Or chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, and turbidity; Or chlorophyll a, phycocyanin, and turbidity.
Three and six parameter fluorescence sensors V-Lux
The six parameter fluorescence sensor V-Lux can detect chlorophyll a&c, chlorophyll a&b, phycocyanin, phycoerythrin, turbidity, and absorbance (not displayed but recorded).
